Statistical and Formal Theory Consulting

Note: Consulting services for the Spring Semester have ended. However, our consultants are still available by appointment. Feel free to send us an email at any time.

About Us

The Program for Quantitative and Analytical Political Science offers a consulting service to assist faculty members and students in the social sciences at Princeton University who utilize statistics and formal theory in their research. Members of this consulting service are not research assistants nor preceptors, but are there to provide you or your research assistants with quick help for problems relating to statistical analysis or formal theory. Our goal is to help you do your research.

We currently provide assistance to individuals affiliated with Politics, the Woodrow Wilson School, and Sociology. If you are not affiliated with these departments, feel free to send an email to us at q-apsconsulting@trac.princeton.edu and we will see how we can help.

Past Clients

During our inaugural semester (Fall 2012), we provided consulting services to undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, and faculty in the Politics department and the Woodrow Wilson School. The duration of consulting sessions can range from just a couple of minutes to over an hour, depending on the client's needs.

How We Help

Depending on the client and the topic, we offer walk-in office hours where no appointment is necessary, reserved appointments during these office-hours, and special arrangements scheduled at the convenience of the client and consultant. Our consultants can offer assistance on a host of topics from scraping the web to complex derivations.
